The Maasai Mara NatioLocated at a height of 5,199 meters, Mount Kenya is Africa’s second highest mountain. It offers easy as well as challenging ascents with scenic beauty. According to Kikuyu folklore, it is the home of the Supreme Being: Ngai, a name also used by the Maasai and Kamba to describe God. The park is famous for its population of various endangered species including suni antelope, Mount Kenya mole rat, skinks (lizard), montane viper and a variety of owls.

The enchanting colors of nature were evident in the flora including giant groundsel and lobelia. The lower slopes were covered with dry upland forest, which had a distinct character of its own. You would never like to miss found a dense forest of cedar and podo trees upwards and at a height of 2,000 meters. Finally, at a height of 2,500m, you will get the glimpse of black and white colobus and sykes monkeys. It is a dense belt of bamboo forest, which will merge into the upper forest of smaller trees, interspersed with glades.

As you will continue your expedition, you will see various other animals including bushbuck, rock hyrax, buffalo, elephant and lower down olive baboon. You will also see waterbuck, black rhino, black fronted duikers, leopard, giant forest hog, genet cat, bushpig and hyena.

The beauty of the park and its various attractions were so engaging that the entire day passed with the blink of eye.
